Nope, that would just fuel the fire. However, you just did the right thing. You said your piece without getting down and dirty.

Responsible participation in civic debates is the way to define (or correct) the course in a Democracy. After all, Democracy is not a Spectator sport.

That is why I have allowed everyone to post his or her thoughts/opinions on this civic forum. All I have asked of them in return is to do so with class -i.e. without using profanity, or derogatory terms. In spite of many of our members posting their comments using somewhat (if not blatantly) raw language, I have been patient, and accommodating as best as I possibly can. Responsible dialog is what we need.

I can see that even though you are passionate about your this, your have said your piece without using profanity or derogatory terms. I commend you for that.
